August 31: Life Sucks

Life sucks. Alot.

I finally got my layout done, to the point where I am happy with it, and it looks like shit in Mozilla. I don't know why — I used CSS and tried to be as syntax-friendly as possible. But it looks like shit. Maybe it's time for yet another new layout. =P

Anyway, sorry Mozilla/Netscape/Opera guys/gals. It'll be fixed soon. Which reminds me...I have to install Opera.

August 31: Arg

Arg! I really don't want to be at work right now! It's 3:07 (@797) and I am über-bored. I can't wait to get off work and just sit around all night doing nothing. I don't know why I have such a desire to do so, but I do.

I just noticed two problems with my site, both on the blog page. Firstly, I forgot to terminate the “download the template” link, and so all of the text up to the “Posted at” part ws actually a link, even though it didn't look like it. Well, it's fixed now. The other issue involves the text on this blog. It goes right to the right-hand edge, and I'm not sure how to fix it yet. I'll have to look into it. It's a good thing I haven't applied that template look to all the other pages yet. =)

Anyway, I have to work again. Shoot me.

August 31: Blogger

So. Blog.

Yeah. I got my blog working. A few days ago, I messed around with it, trying to make it connect to shinyplasticbag.com properly so I could have a nice, real blog. But it didn't work right, so I gave up. I then spent the evening programming something similar in VB, and then got bored of it. So I decided to give Blogger another chance, and I managed to get it working. Hurrah for me.

Anyway, it's the long weekend, but I'm working. I'm actually on my lunch break right now. Work sucks, but it's going well today. I'm working at more than twice my usual speed for some reason. I wonder how much I can get done in one day?

In other news, I am presently enamoured of Internet Time. It's an idea being peddled by Swatch, the watchmakers. It's timezone free, the same time everywhere. As I write this, it's (oddly enough) @666. You see, instead of being divided into 24 hours, the day is divided into 1000 .beats (yes, that's dot-beats), each of which is something like 86 seconds long. Anyway, I rather like the idea. You can get desktop Internet Time Clocks and stuff at the website. Very cool.

Speaking of time, this month's Scientific American is really great. The entire issue is about time itself, and that's where I found out about Internet Time. It's very cool, and definitely worth buying.

Ack. I have to go back to work soon. Life sucks. But at least I have my Blogger. =)

PS: Blogger has disappointed me. I was under the impression that one didn't have to worry about HTML that much with it. But the post editor doesn't do anything for you! I thought, at the very least, it would insert the <p> tags for me. Sigh. Nothing is easy. Maybe I should write that program after all.

PPS: For some reason, it's inserting the previously mentioned <p> tags by itself. ARG.
