What a long, crappy day. Today was the Day of the Steps (bah bah bahhhhhnnnn). We ripped up the carpet in the stairway, only to discover terrible 70s-era orange stuff underneath. And get this. That stuff was glued down.

What was wrong with the former owners of this home??

Anyway, after much ripping, tearing, prying, and sanding, we discovered that underneath all the carpet and glue and crap, there was some really nice wood. Pine, in fact. So, we sanded them smooth and left them for the day after seven hours or so of work. They’re not done, or anywhere near it, but they look much, much better. Just wait til they get stained. They’ll be so pretty.

All the sanding gave me a massive allergy attack, however, so I’ve been in bed for the last two hours and I’m now ready for sleep. Work tomorrow and all.

Until then, I guess, I bid thee farewell. Or firewall. Or something.
