Well, I’m all done formatting my hard drive. The following things were not backed up:
- CuteFTP sites
- Recently downloaded software (Trillian Pro, StyleXP, etc)
- My music
Only the last one is a bad thing. I did indeed back it up, but it got fucked up at some point and removed from the hard drive I backed up onto. The recovery software I’ve tried doesn’t see it. Oh well. It’s not like there was anything irreplaceable there. Good thing I just burned 4 new data CDs, huh?

Did you have trouble setting up the media directory? I followed the directions to the letter, but I’m getting an error something like:

Apollo, that SAFE MODE is on of PHP’s options. There’s nothing you can do.

Apollo, I am using a dir called ‘files’ on the root of my webserver, you should be able to point your ‘media’ dir there and not worry about it, just chmod the dir to 777

Yeah we have running water, electricity, gas and even cable internet… but not where i live.
Australia is quite modern, in some ways more modern but we just use a different language to express stuff.
