Tick Tock Tick Tock Tick Tock Tick Tock

It is snowing once again. It seems to me that it wasn’t all that long ago that we’d get a lot less snow — maybe one or two big snowstorms in a whole year. It’s only January, however, and our second big storm is currently raging outside. It’s only been going for about two hours so far, so who knows how bad it will be. We’re supposed to get somewhere in the neige-bourhood of 30 cm, which would make tomorrow a messy and generally unpleasant day. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

My weekend was fairly uneventful. On Saturday, I went out with Janet, Amanda, and Castro for some free pool (courtesy of Castro). I’ve totally lost my touch — a few years ago, I loved pool and played it as much as possible. I therefore gained a certain amount of skill. However, it’s all gone, and I can’t shoot for crap. It was fun anyway, though. The good times, however, didn’t last long, since I had to work last night, as usual*

(It’d be nice to have a weekend off once in a while. I decided to take the weekend before my birthday off for this very weekend. I’d like to go downtown, since I’m turning 22 and have yet to go yet. How sad.)

. To detract from the monotony a bit, I was working on the women’s side of the hospital. I’m very glad I wasn’t in the emergency room, since it was crazy busy. You know how I hate crazy busy-ness.

Anyway, I’ve got classes tomorrow (unless this storm really picks up), so I’ve got to get some sleep. Until next time…

I just came across the geekiest slogan for a fruit drink ever, and it’s in French.

"Sinus, cosinus, tangerine"

Mark@John-s

That’s so super! I want to buy that drink.

Steve

Dear god.

Chris

Would you rather have the daily dose of 50mm of rain that we are currently getting out here in on the wet coast? It goes real well with what little snow is now left from our two week freeze. =)

Apollo

I for one would take rain. Rain is pleasant.

je

Rain doesn’t shut the city down…I’ll take rain.

Chris

This is true, although most of the low-lying roads are flooded, massive potholes have emerged on major thrufares due to snow+salt+rain, and the foot of snow that we received about two weeks earlier did not melt before the rains.

Brings stress when you live in a community that is below sea level.

Amanda

My sister lives in Vancouver. She says it’s pretty miserable there. However she did say she’d rather that then the piles of snow and neverending freezing cold here in the maritimes

keddy@home

I LIKE THE SNOW!!! IT SHALL STAY.

Apollo

Chris, I just looked at a news site and saw that the flooding there is rather bad. when you said 5 cm of rain each day I didn’t think it’d be that serious. With that data I might stick with snow.

Tilley

ah hahahaha… you can all suffer with the snow… i love it, we got in the nabour hood of something liek 35-40 cm, but where it drifted on my car, i thought it was stolen… you better call in the army for help guys…lol…

I love snow I hate shoveling.
I am suffering from rubber arms from all the shovelling.

je

I acutally do like snow, I was just frustrated!!!

Steve

hehe Snowblowers baby its the only way, I was dug out in 15 minutes haha. Damn it was cold today.

Chris on the Ark

See, I like the snow as it is quite the novelty. And it’s not that I don’t like rain, I just don’t like the quantity that we are getting. =)

Yeah, I’m not sure how the exact calculation works, but 50mm works out to be a whole lot more somehow. If it were snowing right now, we’d have at least 5 or 6 feet of the stuff… and the rough part is it’s been doing this since Sunday and doesn’t appear to be letting up till the weekend.

Chris on the Ark - Update

Oooo, a double comment.

Anywho, just heard that since Sunday, we have received one quarter of our average annual precipitation [1117.2 mm].

On a happier note, I believe the ark is getting close to Hawaii.

Apollo

Do any of you fine folks know of a free DVD copy program?

Apollo

That’s a meter of water. Wow.

Keddy@home

Thats a shit load of water… and think if it were snow it would be 11172cm

Pugs

CloneDvd.

keddy@home

oops i ment 1117.2 cm or 37.24 feet

je

Did we really need more snow today?
