Beautiful Noise

Hey-o, how’s the world treating ya? Life is grand from good old Halifax, which is buried under an randomly growing layer of snow. That’s right, we got more snow. Sigh. You know, I really do love snow, but when we get a storm and the snow from the last storm is still lying around, it’s a real pain. There are few things are tiring as trying to shovel snow to the top of a four foot pile. And plows, ugh, don’t even get me started.

Today was very fun, however. Due to the crazy snows, a lot of people ended up coming home from work early, or not going at all. This is how it came to pass that my Mom, Mary Ann, Janet, Pugsley, Steve and I were sledding down the hill behind my house for two hours this afternoon. Sledding is definitely an underrated activity, and I feel bad for all of the poor dorks that don’t get to do it. Plus, I’m sure it was fun for anyone who happened to be watching from the comfort of their home, because I’m sure seeing three people (myself, Janet, and Steve) piled on top of a fourth (Pugsley, who was delicately balanced on top of two “Flying Saucers”) sliding down a hill would be quite the site. Much fun was had by all involved parties.

After a brief thawing period, I went to see White Noise with Mom, who happens to be into all of that wacky paranormal stuff. I have to say that the movie was somewhat of a dud; it wasn’t a bad movie, but it wasn’t great. Of course, I don’t really put any faith in the whole Electronic Voice Phenomena thing. Call me a skeptic, I guess. It’s one of those many things that I find interesting, but don’t believe. Like alien abductions and such.

Anyway, I’m just preparing for sleep, since I have an adventurous day of school tomorrow. By “adventurous”, I mean “torterous”, since Fridays are always brutal. This is because I have to go to school in the day and then work all night, which makes finding time to sleep somewhat difficult. This semester isn’t too bad, though, because my first class isn’t until 12:30 and I can therefore sleep until 11. Things always balance though; I don’t get home until six or so, which leaves less time to sleep*

(No matter when it is that I go to sleep, I never sleep past 7:30 or so. Otherwise, I don’t feel like I get to do anything with my day: school-sleep-work makes me feel like I’ve utterly wasted 1/365th of my year.)

. C’est la vie.

So, I’m going to go do that (sleep), and you probably should too (unless you are Kitta, in which case, get out of bed). Did you hear how Tony lost his glasses?

Actually, you forget that I went to highschool up in Chicago. I got my fair share of sledding in :)

Mark@Ion

Oh, I remembered. But you don’t get to do it anymore, so you’re definitely not doing it enough. SLEDDDDD!

Tony

no. What happened?

Chris reporting from the Ark

Damn, were those the glasses I stepped on this morning? Sorry..

I was planning on going sledding sometime while we had the snow here, but I kinda procrastinated and didn’t get around to it. Although, if I really wanted to, I could use a flying saucer and hydroplan down the rivers that are currently draining down the curb lanes on most major throughfares.

Hey Mark for some reason I now have a Tandy 3800Hd sitting on my lap but it will not work. It’s like a first laptop that Radioshack brought out. I need help

Mark@ion

Eesh! You have to bring that bad boy over some day.

Tony

Mark, you need to get janet doing the phone thing and send it to me so I can put it on my phone.

Mark@Ion

THE PHONE IS RINGING!!!

crispin

I will bring it over in the next couple days. I need your expertise to see if you can fix it

Mark@Ion

Arg, I’ve got Celebrity Skin stuck in my head. WHY?

tony

Hey mark. I think that I might need your expertise too.

in IE, if your horizontally resize that window, the inner cell should resize accordingly, but it doesn’t.

Any idea why that’s doing that? And how to fix it?

Mark@Work

Too tired to think about that now. Call me later and we’ll talk.

Nick, word on the grapevine is that there are four positions in Protective Services opening up in about a week. Check the online job board. Speaking of grapevines, does anyone else remember the California Raisins? What was up with them?

Crispin

Yeah i know i’m just waiting for it to be posted. They were cool I love those littler raisins

Steve

The Rugged Cactus

WOW California rasins? thats a little bit ago.

Keddy@home

I read up and listened to some of the EVP stuff the basis of the movie white noise… that is some erie shit. I am a little freaked out by what I heard on some sites I googled.

Steve

To me it sound slike people are trying alittle to hard to find that stuff. the pictures are sketchy at best or are so easy to fake i can’t belive people think they’re real. And remember all the old records that said something differet when you play them backwards?

Mark@Ion

Some of the records did have hidden messages, but most didn’t. The Judas Priest ones, for example, were just artifacts left over from the downmixing.
