I’d apologize for the delay between blog entries, but the conversation has been lively and hilarious. Nothing can beat the pissing contest between Keddy and Pugs:

That line had me laughing all night at work on Saturday. You can really tell that they love each other, can’t you? Anyway, in terms of things that actually matter
, I just finished doing the second quiz for my philosophy class. I got a 90% on this one, too, so there’s still hope for me passing the class. Maybe I’ll be able to turn that horrible midterm grade into a statistical blip…wish me luck on that.
In other news, my mom is in Alberta for the week. She’s in Calgary right now, but she’ll soon be off to Banff. (Ostensibly, she’s there for a conference at work, but she’s also getting to connect with Devin, Mary Ann’s offspring, who moved out there a few years back. Mary Ann loaded Mom up with several kilograms of cookies prior to departure). So, for the week, I’m responsible for keeping the pets (ie, kitty and Mary Ann) alive and well. So far, so good.
Anyhoo, I’m off to go tend to the sick and weary. The flu seems to be hitting everyone pretty hard this year, which I guess we deserved (it’s been awhile — we had it coming). With apologies for the disjointed randomness of this particular entry, I’ll see you later. Ciao.

Hello Folks from Banff! I want skis so badly! They’re cheaper here than one would think. Used skis with bindings are about $150. and the shops set them up for you.
Its breathtaking here - and its not all about the cold. My co-traveller is very cold and has been complaining about it quite a bit. I’m trying to find a tour to take us to Lake Louise and around.
Devin and his fiance have been great. She’s really very nice and I think they will do well together.
Talk more when I get home.

The animals are intact, although they continue to antagonize each other. Peppi sleeps on Mary Ann’s chest and Kitty sleeps on her feet. It’s pretty hilarious.

The topaz broke yesterday… The starter died. So I called a friend who is a machanic and he looked at it and said can you buy one tontie? I said yep, so with in 45min of the car not working it was up and running again… it costed 114.99. That it… YAY

Well, really, it is a stand-off and it’s actually Sam on my chest and Peppi at my feet - puts them about 5 paces apart so they can turn and shoot daggers at each other all night. Have I mentioned Sleepless MA @ TheOKCorral? I wish I could see the breathtaking! And my son…sigh! And I wear size 8 because there better be two sets of skis coming home - hehehe! My day went kind of like this…drive to work early in the gale force wind and rain…work…park in the church yard (no ticket again…yay!), drive to Sackville in the wind and rain, have a root canal and then go to Walmart, buy snow tires and wait 2 hours for them to be installed. Now I’m home, sated and I am not looking at mountains. ***SIGH*** Guess I’ll go to the gym. Have tons of fun! Wish I was there!

Skiis can be gotten pretty cheaply here. I can get a pair of brand name skis, with bindings, for $300 (used but in excellent shape) Retail is about $650. I’m planning to rent a car and drive to Jasper tomorrow - weather permitting. The conference is good - funny guy. I’m hoping Devin will take me skiing on Saturday. I AM missing you all and wishing you were here. Love to all!
