January 27: Rock Band party

A bunch of people are coming over to play Rock Band tonight. I am way too excited about pretending to play a musical instrument. Rock on.

Tonight's pseduo-musical entertainment will be provided by Keddy (XBOX 360, Rock Band) and Jamie (extra Rock Band guitar).

So, there's some excitement on my end: I'm flying out to San Francisco with Janet on Thursday. We're visiting the Exploratorium, the Comic Art Museum, and maybe Chinatown. It's just a short pre-weekend weekend-long trip, but it'll be fun. Wish us luck.

Anyway, I'm off to hang out with my mom this afternon, mentally preparing myself for the epic evening of rocking out. Until next time, world.

January 20: It's snowing outside

Hurray, it's snowing outside! It's quite unexpected, too — I went to throw out some garbage this morning and found that it had snowed quite a bit overnight. It's still snowing, actually. Anyway, to celebrate, I thought I'd post up a picture...

January 15: Air

OK, it's official: Apple has made the sexiest computer ever. The MacBook Air is 2 cm thick at its thickest point and less than one centimetre at its thinnest. That's absolutely amazing. My MacBook Pro blew my mind when I got it less than two years ago, and it's going to feel giant if I ever see a MacBook Air in person. Technology is pretty amazing.

So, yeah. I'm just here at EastLink, plugging away on my work for them. It's not too exciting, because it consists of an awful lot of waiting around. Hopefully, we'll be done pretty soon. I just found these super cool pictures that Amanda left in the comments of the previous entry: the characters from Futurama and The Simpson's drawn as comic book characters. Super cool. I have no idea what the source is for either of those, so if anyone knows, let me so I can rightfully attribute it.

Anyway, I've got to get back to work. Until next time: uninaka uninaka *awkward dance*.

January 08: Slow Poke

Boy, I'm behind on updating this blog! I totally let things get away from me — I've been “busy”. You know, that state you get in when you feel like you're getting lots of things done, but you're really not doing anything at all? Yep, that's me. Work resumed post-holidays last Monday, and I've got a bunch of side contracts on the go, and that's enough to make me feel like I'm on overdrive.

Work's a bit sleepy here this week. Jamie and Dan are off in Las Vegas for CES, so it's just Joel and I here coder-wise. He's leaving for greener pastures as of Friday, so he's pretty much checked out. I'm just plugging away on my projects and trying to be productive. Joy.

In other news, I have a Paco at my house! It's not for long (in fact, she'll probably be gone by the time I get home from work today), but it's still Paco-tastic. Katie brought her over yesterday because a plumber is due at their apartment and she didn't want Paco there by herself. We spent the bulk of last night playing Carcasonne, our new favourite game, and Paco wandered around trying to eat the pieces. It was quite cute.

Anyway, I've got to get back to work — what's new with you?
